遠回りの乗り換え

Our train connection allowed fifteen minutes to cross a station we had never visited.

初めて使う駅で、乗り換えには十五分の余裕がありました。

The journey planner described a short route using stairs between two platforms.

経路案内には、二つのホームの間を階段で移動する短い道が示されていました。

We were carrying a heavy suitcase, so I looked for information about lifts before travelling.

重いスーツケースを持っていたので、出発前にエレベーターの情報を調べました。

However, they explained where the lifts were and suggested allowing extra time.

ただ、エレベーターの場所を説明し、余裕を増やすよう勧めてくれました。

We changed to an earlier first train, even though it meant leaving home sooner.

家を早く出ることにはなりましたが、最初の列車を一本早めました。

At the station, one lift was busy with several passengers and a pushchair.

Because we had more time, we waited without trying to carry the case up the stairs.
