A customer emailed our shop about a jacket she had bought online. She wrote that the sleeves were too long, although the body fitted well. She asked whether she could exchange it for a smaller size. I checked our exchange rules and started writing a reply.
Then I looked at the size chart for the two jackets. The smaller jacket had shorter sleeves, but it was also much narrower. Simply sending it might not solve her problem. I explained the difference and included the measurements of both sizes.
I also asked her to compare them with a jacket she already wore comfortably. She replied the next day and decided to keep her original jacket. She planned to ask a local shop about shortening the sleeves. I had answered her question, but the size information was what helped her decide.
